Houston, Texas ~ Esco Micro Pte Ltd is purchasing equity via an investment in API , Inc, its exclusive US distributor for its NSF-listed Labculture® range of Biological Safety Cabinets. The new joint venture company will be renamed Esco Biotech, Inc. in order to present a unified front to the US market.

Esco Labculture® Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinet certified to Japanese Standard JIS K3800:2000
Tokyo, Japan ~ Esco's Labculture® Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinet has been certified by Japan Air Cleaning Association (JACA) for compliance to the requirements of Japanese Industrial Standard K3800:2000 for microbiological safety cabinets. JIS K3800:2000 is the Japanese standard for Biological Safety Cabinets based on the US NSF49 standard requirements. However, the Japanese standard has more stringent microbiological testing requirements.

Esco Labculture® Class II Type B2 Biological Safety Cabinets UL-certified for electrical safety
Singapore ~ Esco's Labculture Class II Type B2 Biological Safety Cabinets have been certified to the UL 61010A-1 (Underwriters Laboratories, Inc) safety requirements for "Electrical Equipment for Laboratory Use", for USA (UL) and for Canada (UL-C). Compliance to the UL safety requirements is a pre-requisite for NSF49-certification of Biological Safety Cabinets. The Esco LB2 models are now officially listed on the NSF website...
