Airstream® Max Class II Microbiological Safety Cabinet
Cost Effective Solution to Operator, Product and Environmental Protection
The Esco Airstream® Class II Biological Safety Cabinet is a cost effective solution to providing operator, product and environmental protection within the laboratories and industrial facilities. The Airstream® features the use of 2 ULPA filters to deliver ISO Class 3 air cleanliness to the work zone.
The Esco Airstream® Class II Biological Safety Cabinet has been independently certified and type-tested by Health Protection Agency (HPA, formerly CAMR, the Centre for Applied Microbiological Research, Porton Down, Salisbury, UK) for compliance with the Class II requirements of the EN12469:2000 (European standard for microbiological safety cabinets). The type-testing performed included stringent evaluations of cabinet airflows, containment, and operator comfort factors.

Product Highlights

-
Transparent side windows, angled front, and reduced noise levels combine to create the most comfortable, well-lit cabinet in Esco's range.
-
The front sash is motorized for convenient one touch operation.
-
ULPA filters (per IEST-RP-CC-001.3) are tested to a typical efficiency of >99.999% for 0.1 to 0.3 micron particles, better than HEPA filters.
-
Sentinel l™ Gold microprocessor monitors airflow in real-time via temperature compensated sensors and conserves UV lamp life with unique timer function.
-
The Accuflow microprocessor based speed controller maintains constant, stable airflow despite building supply voltage fluctuations.
Airflow Diagram

-
Ambient air is pulled through the perforations located towards the work zone front to prevent contamination of the work surface and work product. The inflow does not mix with the clean air within the cabinet work zone. Inflow air travels through a return path toward the common air plenum (blower plenum) at the top of the cabinet.
-
The uniform, non-turbulent air stream protects against cross contamination within and throughout the work area.

-
Near the work surface, the downflow air stream splits with a portion moving toward the front air grille, and the remainder moving to the rear air grille. A small portion of the ULPA filtered downflow enters the intake perforations at the side capture zones at a higher velocity (small blue arrows).
