For applications when protection against particulates is required during the weighing of potentially hazardous powders, Esco offers the following cabinets that are specially designed for this application.
Esco Weighing Cabinets
Esco weighing cabinets with a granite stone installed in work surface for increased stability during powder-weighing processes.
Equipped with a superior ULPA filter (typical efficiency >99.999% at 0.12 microns), these cabinets may be used when operator protection and environmental protection from particulates is required during the powder-weighing application.

Reverse Horizontal Weighing Cabinet
This cabinet provides operator protection during operations where a sterile workzone is not required.
All cabinets configured for weighing may be equipped with the following application-specific optional features:
- Granite stone permanently mounted in the work zone for mounting your microbalance to reduce vibration and enhance balance stability
- Low speed setting to temporarily lower the air flow in the work zone during actual weighing, in order to reduce airflow turbulence and enhance balance stability
- Computer compatible LCD display mounted permanently in the back wall of the cabinet work zone (connected to external PC)
- Flexible plastic computer keyboard which may be easily cleaned and decontaminated (connected to external PC)

IVF Cabinets
Esco IVF cabinet is a specially modified vertical laminar flow cabinet with the following features :
- 99.999% ULPA-filtered vertical laminar flow in the work zone providing a sterile work area
- Special heated work surface
- Optional provisions for microscope mounting
For further information on other features of Esco IVF cabinet, refer to Esco Airstream® Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet specifications.
Cytotoxic Cabinets
Based on our NSF-listed / EN12469 type-tested Esco Labculture® Class II Type A2 Biological Safety cabinets, Labculture® Cytotoxic Cabinets are specifically designed and manufactured for work involving handling and preparation of cytotoxic drugs. The main feature of this cabinet is the installation of a HEPA filter immediately below the work surface. This reduces the extent of contaminated areas in the cabinet and makes it possible to safely change the filter without the need for decontamination.
It must be noted that cytotoxic products cannot be decontaminated via conventional means (i.e. formaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide etc.) and therefore all work with cytotoxics must utilize a cabinet such as this which has been designed to allow a safe filter change.
Built to meet requirements of DIN 12980 and AS 2567 for cytotoxic drug safety cabinets, the Labculture® Cytotoxic cabinet range features all the latest design features available on our Labculture® Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinets, such as the single-piece internal liner, Sentinel™ microprocessor-based control system, laminated shatter-proof safety front sash and BioCote antimicrobial powder-coating.
As with our Esco Labculture® Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinets, Esco Labculture® Cytotoxic cabinets are individually factory-tested and delivered with commissioning report.
Optional configurations:

a. Lead shielding for nuclear medicine applications (refer to image)
b. Optional carbon filter in lieu of HEPA installed below work surface (this configuration affords no protection for the service technician when changing filters contaminated with cytotoxic drugs). Refer to image
