"My experience as an intern in Esco Hatboro office for the past one year had been an exciting and enriching one filled with many challenges and opportunities to excel in the areas of business and product development. Esco is a place where hard work and determination is the root to success. Never be afraid of taking on new responsibilities in Esco as it rewards you with many learning opportunities of real-life situations. There is presently a multi-national working force in the US office; hence I had the privilege to be exposed to the different working culture in the company which makes this whole NOC working experience much more valuable. Under the mentorship of XQ Lin and Mike Martin, I learnt to conduct internet based online product research, solve real life technical product problems on the spot, set up the networking of computers and software programs, diagnose IT related problems, speak to customers and suppliers across the globe with conviction and confidence. I was tasked to complete a large scope of ad hoc projects such as a detailed analysis of internet marketing (Search Engine Optimisation), Draeger Kit for our fume hood products and mass emailing of our huge customer database. All projects were well-guided by both XQ and Mike and I definitely had a good grasp of the business model of Esco. The whole learning process was steep, tedious but definitely rewarding and worthwhile at the same time. Throughout this one year, I travelled to South Carolina to attend a tradeshow called Labs21 Conference. It was indeed an eye opener for me as I had the chance to witness real competitors in the industry and engage in sales conversations with potential customer and researchers from prominent institutes and companies. Last but not least, Esco serves future undergrads /interns a golden opening to value add themselves with a wide diversity of real-life lessons, skills and knowledge."

"I was selected by Esco as part of the NUS Overseas College program to intern for a year in the Esco Philadelphia office, and the experience so far has been phenomenal! Not adverse to allowing new staff to take on responsibilities and learn through the process of failing and falling, Esco embodies the spirit of teaching through hands-on learning in real-life situations. Under the tutorage of the Vice-President, I learnt lessons in market economics and dynamics, especialy during our conversations. Having started with no background in these areas, I quickly acquired knowledge with his guidance. So far, I have been exposed to a variety of challenging tasks such as business development for our biotech products, specific market research and analysis, delivering presentations to professional organizations etc - all of which enrich my working experience and boost my portfolio. In addition, I was offered opportunities to travel for work and have been to as many as 6 different states in the US within half a year.
