Esco Ductless Fume Cabinets have been independently type-tested and certified by Invent-UK, one of the leading independent test agencies, to comply with all the major international performance and safey standards:

Filter Efficiency and Retention Capacity:

BS 7989:2001

One of the most demanding and rigorous tests on carbon filter efficiency and retention capacity, with the carbon filters subject to high challenge concentrations for long periods of time. Compliance to the BS 7989:2001 ensures the high level of performance from our specially-designed activated carbon filter in terms of operator protection.

AFNOR NF X 15-211

The NF X 15-211 requires the manufacturer to stipulate the retention capacities of the activated carbon filters for a challenge chemical. Independently certified by invent UK, the activated carbon filters installed in our ductless units are capable of providing the retention capacities demanded of this standard.

Chemical Vapour Containment:

ANSI/ASHRAE 110-1995

Our ductless cabinets are certified to the ANSI/ ASHRAE110-1995 standard and compliance is assured to afford users with assurance of the performance of Esco's Ductless Cabinets. The ASHRAE 110-1995 standard is one of the latest and most comprehensive methods for testing operator safety level of fume cabinets by determining qualitatively and repeatably how well the system contains the gases and vapours released in the work zone. First published in 1985, and extensively revised in 1995, the method employs a set of comprehensive tests to evaluate the hood performance.

BS 7258:200 | EN 14175-3 | AFNOR NF X 15-203

The above standards govern both airflow uniformity at the sash opening and the containment efficiency of the ductless cabinets. ESCO is proud to claim conformity to the above standards where a uniform in-flow velocity across the sash guarantees good containment of vapors that are typically handled in the laboratory.
