Superior Containment Capabilities

• Acela Shaping Vanes, Ergonomic Sash Handle, Tapered Exhaust Collar, Flush Foil entry, Functionally Robust Bypass and Hot Zone Baffles provide a Perfect Protection Perimeter and ensures maximum operator safety.
• Acela Shaping Vanes increase airflow ‘sweep’ on the critical area on the side walls to improve containment.
• Ergonomic Sash Handle gently directs air into the hood without sacrificing visibility.
• Tapered Exhaust Collar - Esco exclusive one piece moulded fiberglass exhaust collar provides superior chemical resistance compared with coated steel or stainless steel alternatives. Tapered design with 12" outlet diameter exhausts air quietly and enhances face velocity uniformity. No additional transitions are required (US patent 6,428,408).
• Flush Foil Entry Provides maximum airflow “sweep” on the critical boundary layer near to the work surface level to reduce turbulence and eliminate backflow. Cable pass-throughs at both ends allow instruments to remain in operation when the sash is fully lowered.
• Functionally Robust Bypass is self-regulating. Bypass air entering the hood dilutes vapors present in the critical zone behind the sash. Bypass air does not contribute to the "roll" thereby improving containment. Bypass area increases as the sash is lowered.
• Hot Zone Baffles draws most vapors out in single pass displacement of the air, therefore avoiding vapor build-up in the hood interior. Thermal Heat Relief is quickly achieved unlike competing "laminar flow" designs. (US patent 6,428,408).
